North Side

North Side is a small, low-density district on the island’s northern shore. Quiet, family-oriented and largely residential with some small farms and guesthouses. Coastline alternates sandy coves and rocky foreshore; easy access to calm, reef-protected snorkeling spots and the North Sound (mangroves, seagrass, sheltered boating). Good for snorkeling, birdwatching, relaxed coastal drives and local Caymanian culture; limited tourist services, so bring supplies and a car.

Dining: Over the Edge Café (exudes Caymanian culture through cooking with fresh locally grown vegetables, and fresh seafood).

Shopping: Fruit Stand (local produce, lots of variety), Silver Thatch Plaza, Chisolm’s Grocery.

Leisure: Crystal Caves (Guided walking tours through tropical forest & underground caves), Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park (65 acres of a non-profit outdoor garden and wildlife facility with many exotic species throughout the property).

Neighbourhood Perks: Clifton Hunter High School offers education to the youth in this area.
